Civil/Structural Engineer

 

Design Engineer to support Power Transmission & Distribution and Telecommunications Site Development Projects throughout the US.

 

Work Description:

 

Engineering: Perform site evaluation to determine constructability, prepare site layout, perform civil and structural calculations as required for design, prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD, coordination with other disciplines such as surveying, electrical and mechanical as required for a complete design.

Project tasks: preparation and maintenance of project status reports; attend project meetings, coordinate tasks with other disciplines, clients and vendors. Candidate will also be interacting with clients and building officials during the course of design.

Construction support: Construction observation; responding to RFIs and field changes; construction documentation; submittal reviews; test result reviews; etc.

Business Development: Support proposal and estimate preparation, customer relations, brochure and SOQ development, expo presentations and follow ups, etc.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from US University or equivalent.Experience: 0-5 yrs exp. Previous experience in Telecom or T&D work is preferred.

Licensure: EIT

Codes & Standards: ACI 318, AISC Steel Manual, ASCE-7, NEC, NESC C2, EIA-TIA 222 G, etc.

Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD ver. 2018 or higher, Microstation V8i, MS Office, RISA 3D, CSC TEDDS, MathCAD, Hilti Anchors, LPILE, PLS-CADD, etc.

Personal Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, presentation skills, business development skills, organized, and self-starter.

Business or Project management skills: Capable of handling several projects at one time. Prior experience in project management is helpful.

Travel: some travel required.
