CAD Designer

 

Designer / Draftsperson to support drawing development for Power Transmission & Distribution and Telecommunications Site Development Projects throughout the US.

 

Work Description:

 

Engineering: Prepare site layout, details and construction drawings using AutoCAD, under the direction of a lead designer or an engineer.  Perform work in coordination with other disciplines such as surveying, electrical and mechanical as required for a complete design.  Prepare detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication. Perform site visits to obtain info required for design, as needed.

Project tasks: preparation and maintenance of project status reports; attend project meetings, coordinate tasks with other disciplines, clients and vendors. Candidate will also be interacting with clients and building officials during the course of design.

Construction support: Responding to RFIs and field changes; submittal reviews; test result reviews; etc.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

Degree: Associates’ Degree in Engineering Technology or Architectural design from a US University or equivalent. Experience: 2-5 yrs. exp. Previous experience in Telecom or Power Delivery work is preferred.

Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office suite.  Experience in Autodesk inventor or Revit and MicroStation, is a plus.

Personal Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, presentation skills, business development skills, organized, and self-starter.

Business or Project management skills: Capable of handling several projects at one time. Prior experience in project management is helpful.

Travel: Local travel required.
